Supporting Children with Cleft Conditions in Kurdistan and Iraq

We are made up of one determined mother, a loving grandfather, and a group of compassionate volunteer doctors who share a common goal: to support children and families affected by cleft conditions in Kurdistan region and Iraq. Our mission is to provide support, resources, and a sense of community to families facing similar experiences.

Our organization is dedicated to improving the lives of children with cleft palates, inspired by my daughter’s resilience and guided by a mission to bring lasting change. In Iraq and Kurdistan, there is currently only one center specifically addressing the needs of children with cleft palates. However, this facility requires substantial improvements to fully meet the growing demand for specialized care.

We are focused on advancing the center’s capabilities through ongoing medical training for doctors, introducing the latest techniques and tools, and enhancing emotional support for families. Additionally, we aim to provide essential daily necessities for the children, ensuring a holistic approach to their care—both medically and emotionally.

We also provide comprehensive care based on each child’s needs including speech therapy, nutritional support, dentistry, orthodontics and psychosocial support. This increases their likelihood of living a healthier and more fulfilling life, attending school and pursuing a brighter future.
