Our Story

The Birth of NAZG

NAZG was born from a deeply personal journey of love and resilience. As a mother to Lala, a beautiful daughter born with a cleft palate, I faced the overwhelming challenges that came with her condition. Inspired by her strength and courage, and the unwavering support of her grandfather, I created NAZG to provide hope and care for families navigating similar journeys.

In Kurdistan, we quickly discovered the limitations of the healthcare system when we were unable to secure the surgery Lala desperately needed. The long waiting lists and lack of resources forced us to seek treatment in Germany, where Lala received life-changing surgery.Luckily, we found a highly skilled surgeon in a small town, Siegen, who had inherited his practice from his father. The surgery was performed successfully during the Christmas season, in beautiful cold and snowy weather. We were fortunate be able to stay in the hospital for few weeks to ensure a full recovery. After long conversations with team doctors, We realized that this was one of the world’s best techniques but were limited by financial constraints.

This experience opened our eyes to the disparities in healthcare and the urgent need for better support in our homeland.

During our journey, we saw firsthand the struggles many families in Kurdistan face with only one center available for cleft palate treatment. The lack of tools, techniques, and emotional support highlighted a gap in the care system. At the same time, we recognized the commitment of the doctors at the center, who are eager to improve their skills and reduce waiting times. NAZG was founded to fill this gap and provide support to both families and healthcare professionals.

NAZG’s mission is driven by the strength of my daughter Lala and the wisdom of her grandfather. Together with dedicated doctors, we are committed to transforming the lives of cleft palate children in Iraq. Through our network of compassionate professionals and emotional support for families, we aim to bring hope, healing, and brighter futures—one smile at a time.
